Stigma Free Committee Mission Statement:
To promote mental health awareness, eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness, and foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive community where every individual feels empowered to seek help and thrive without fear of judgment or discrimination.
Vision Statement:
A united Bergenfield where mental wellness is a shared priority, compassion is the guiding value, and every resident regardless of age, background, or circumstance has access to the support and resources they need to lead a healthy, meaningful life.
What We Do:
The Bergenfield Stigma-Free Committee works to create a more informed, compassionate, and supportive community by:
Raising Awareness –
We host educational events, social media campaigns, and public discussions to increase understanding of mental health and reduce stigma.
Providing Resources –
We connect residents to mental health services, wellness programs, and local support networks that are accessible and inclusive.
Collaborating with Partners –
We work alongside schools, faith-based groups, health professionals, law enforcement, and other community organizations to promote mental wellness for all.
Promoting Wellness –
Through our partnership with the Bergenfield Mayor’s Wellness Campaign, we support programs that encourage self-care, mindfulness, and mental resilience.
Encouraging Open Dialogue –
We create safe spaces where individuals can speak openly about mental health without fear of shame or judgment.
Supporting Youth & Seniors –
We engage with students, families, and senior residents to address specific mental health challenges and offer targeted support.
Together, we are building a Bergenfield that is stigma-free, inclusive, and mentally strong.
