Code Enforcement Officers (part time) Borough of Bergenfield

The Borough of Bergenfield is seeking to hire two (2) part-time Code Enforcement Officers. Under the supervision of the Construction Official, this position involves a combination of office, investigative, and fieldwork tasks aimed at enforcing local codes, laws, regulations, and programs within the borough. The Code Enforcement Officers will be responsible for responding to complaints and inquiries, conducting inspections of non-owner-occupied 2-family homes, and issuing summons for violations of Borough ordinances. This role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, making the ability to adapt to various environmental conditions essential and weekend availability. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (use of Borough Vehicle while working), as well as strong communication and writing skills. Previous experience along with knowledge of the GovPilot or SDL software platform is a plus.
