PUBLIC NOTICE
PURPOSE: The Borough of Bergenfield is seeking funding through the State of New Jersey’s Green Acres Program for improvements at Hickory Field located at 165 Hickory Avenue Bergenfield NJ, 07621 (Block 34, Lot 10).
PROJECT SCOPE: The Borough of Bergenfield proposes to renovate the following facilities: softball field, netting, fencing, splash pad, basketball court, and pavilion at Hickory Field. This application proposes the installation of new synthetic turf. A concept plan showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment for the project can be found on the Bergenfield website here (https://bergenfieldnj.gov/notices-annoucements/).
PUBLIC HEARING INFORMATION: The public is encouraged to attend a public hearing in part with the Mayor and Council meeting to learn more about the proposal and to ask questions or provide comments on the proposed plan. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, at 8:00PM. The meeting will be conducted in-person at the Borough Hall Council Chambers on the 3rd Floor located at 198 N. Washington Avenue, Bergenfield, NJ 07621 and held as part of the regularly scheduled council meeting. The Borough Administrator will make a brief presentation followed by a question-and-answer period.
