Dear Bergenfield Residents,

From Borough Hall, we want to inform you that forecasters are calling for more than 12 inches of snow from Sunday into Monday. In preparation for this storm, on-street parking will be banned effective SATURDAY EVENING at 11:59 PM as our Department of Public Works (DPW) begins snow preparation and plowing operations.

Please note that there will be NO PARKING permitted at Borough Hall during this time.

To help alleviate parking challenges, the Borough will open the following municipal lots for public parking:

• Vivyen Field

• Veterans Memorial Park

• PAL Field

Borough Hall Operations

Due to anticipated weather conditions, Borough Hall will either be closed or open with a delayed opening on Monday, January 26, depending on road and weather conditions.

Garbage & Recycling Schedule Changes

• Quadrants 2 and 4: Garbage pickup originally scheduled for Monday, January 26 will be rescheduled for Thursday, January 29.

• Quadrant 1: Recycling pickup scheduled for Monday, January 26 will be rescheduled for Wednesday, January 28.

Important Reminders for Property Owners

• Please ensure all sidewalks are cleared of snow.

• Clear at least three feet around the fire hydrant closest to your property.

• Do not push snow into the street. All snow must be placed back onto your property.

• When clearing the apron of your driveway, please push snow onto your property and not into the roadway. Please be aware that DPW plows may push snow back toward driveways, as the priority is to keep streets clear and passable for emergency vehicles.

Important Reminders for Drivers

• Please ensure vehicles are fully cleared of snow and ice, including the roof, as loose snow can become hazardous to other motorists.

As temperatures remain in the teens and single digits, please remember to bring pets indoors and ensure they are protected from extreme cold. We also encourage residents to check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may need assistance during this frigid weather. A quick call or visit can make a big difference.
